In the past three years, the Portland Century has used three different 100-mile courses. Which did you like best?
This year’s course, which took riders across the Columbia River and deep into Clark County, Wash., past Lacamas Lake, and through Battle Ground and La Center.
The 2013 course, which took riders west into Washington County and included towns such as Gaston and Banks.
The 2012 course, which started eastward along Marine Drive, through Troutdale, Sandy, Boring and the hills and forests of east Multnomah County.

This year’s ride started and finished at the University of Portland in North Portland. The past three years, the start/finish line was at Portland State University in downtown Portland. Which do you prefer?

The meal at the end of this year’s ride was served in one of the cafeterias on the UP campus. In the past few years, it was served outdoors in the South Park Blocks. Which do you prefer?
I liked the arrangement this year.
I’d like to go back to the type of meal served in the past.
Either way works for me, as long as there's plenty of food.

In past years, the century has been on a Sunday. This year, it was moved to Saturday. Do you have a preference?
Sunday is better.

This year’s course was relatively flat, as Portland Century courses go, with some slightly challenging quick climbs, but no major ascents. Was this course to your liking?
Yes. I’m not real fond of riding up hill.
No. I like to climb.
Not a big deal to me either way.
